Zoho Books

Sync contacts from Zoho Books into Lemu, and push contact updates back

The Zoho Books integration is a data-source integration: it keeps a Lemu contact list in sync with your Zoho Books contacts, and lets you push a contact's changes back to Zoho. Unlike Slack, Jira, and Google Calendar, it isn't used from a journey node — it runs in the background.

Connecting#

  1. On Settings → Integrations, click Connect on the Zoho Books card.

  2. A popup opens Zoho's OAuth consent screen. Sign in and approve access.

  3. If your Zoho account has more than one organization, you're prompted to pick which one to sync. If you only have one, it's selected automatically.

  4. Once set up, Lemu creates (or reuses) a contact list named Zoho Books and starts syncing into it.

How sync works#

1

Inbound: Zoho → Lemu

Every 15 minutes, Lemu polls Zoho Books for contacts created or modified since the last sync and creates or updates the matching contacts in the Zoho Books list, matched by Zoho's internal contact_id.

2

Outbound: Lemu → Zoho

From a contact's detail page, you can manually push its current field values back to Zoho Books. This is a one-off, user-triggered action — Lemu doesn't push changes automatically as you edit a contact.

3

Manual resync

You don't have to wait for the next scheduled poll — trigger an immediate resync for the integration from the Integrations page if you need the latest Zoho data right away.

Field mapping#

Each field maps to a Zoho Books contact field with a direction — inbound (Zoho → Lemu only), outbound (Lemu → Zoho only), or bidirectional. The default mapping is a conservative starting point and can be edited per organization:

Lemu contact fieldZoho Books fieldDefault direction
first_namecontact_nameInbound
companycompany_nameBidirectional
emailemailBidirectional
phonemobileBidirectional

Zoho Books doesn't split first and last name, and whether a contact's number is stored under "phone" (landline) or "mobile" varies by organization — that's why first_name defaults to inbound-only and phone maps from mobile rather than assuming. Adjust the mapping to match how your Zoho organization actually uses these fields.

Disconnecting#

Click Disconnect on the Zoho Books card in Settings → Integrations. This stops the sync immediately and revokes Lemu's access to your Zoho account — the Zoho Books contact list and its existing contacts stay in Lemu, but they'll no longer receive updates until you reconnect.
